No fewer than 13 Embraer C-390 transport aircraft, jointly purchased by the Netherlands, Austria and Sweden, will be modified at HIVE. Back in November 2024, it was already announced that Embraer Defence & Security had selected Fokker Services Group for this assignment. Now, Fokker has received official accreditation from the Dutch Ministry of Defence, specifically for the five aircraft that will be used by the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
The Netherlands is the so-called “lead nation” for this project. Austria and Sweden will each take delivery of four C-390 aircraft. The planned modification will make the aircraft suitable for use as a tactical transport means for NATO special operations and deployment in a wide range of military and humanitarian mission
Advantages of cooperation
The collaboration between the three countries offers economies of scale in terms of training, maintenance and servicing. This reduces the operational costs per aircraft. The fact that all C-390s will have the same configuration will make it easier to operate together and exchange personnel.
We are extremely proud that HIVE is the location where modification of the military Embraer C-390 aircraft by Fokker will take place!
