From June 16 to 20, 2025 Hive Aerospace Collective presented itself for the first time to a wide audience outside its own borders at the Paris Air Show 2025. At one of the world’s largest aviation trade shows, with more than 140,000 business visitors, HIVE was officially launched internationally as a strategic European location for MRO&U and advanced logistics activities.

Civil-military cooperation takes center stage

During the launch, the emphasis was on the unique civil-military collaboration within HIVE. Here, industry, the Royal Netherlands Air Force, educational institutions, and government join forces to support the future of civil and military aerospace. The introduction was given by the two founders of HIVE: Erwin van Beljouw, Commander of Air Support Command at Woensdrecht Air Base, and Ivo van der Vlis, Managing Director of Business Park Aviolanda. The Secretary of State for Defense Gijs Tuinman attended the event and emphasized in his speech the importance of good cooperation in today’s world.

Dutch representation and new partners

HIVE participated in the Paris Air Show from the Dutch Pavilion of the NAG (Netherlands Aerospace Group), together with other Dutch aviation companies. During the show, new partnerships were formed and existing collaborations were confirmed. For example, we signed a three-year collaboration agreement with Aerospace Innovation Hub TU Delft. This agreement focuses on knowledge exchange, business development, and innovation, with a particular emphasis on start-ups, scale-ups, and research projects. Naturally, this is in line with our focus on innovation in MRO.

Stronger international positioning

The Paris Air Show provided HIVE with a visible international platform and valuable new contacts: an important step forward in our positioning as a leading European cluster in the field of aerospace maintenance and logistics, where companies and the Royal Netherlands Air Force work together on safety in aviation and society.
