On May 15, 2025, Specto Aerospace signed an agreement with Business Park Aviolanda B.V. to lease 2,500 m² of hall space. This will double the floor space of the company, which is currently still based at Woensdrecht Air Base. Until the renovation of their halls within the former Fokker Elmo complex is completed later this year, Specto will continue its activities at the air base. These include the repair of helicopter rotor blades for civil and military customers, including the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

Growth within HIVE

“Specto wants to grow significantly, but there is not enough space at the military base. We are delighted that they are moving to us for at least ten years,” says Aviolanda Managing Director Ivo van der Vlis. Jeroen Mast started Specto Aerospace 21 years ago in Lelystad. Since 2018, Specto has had a second branch at Woensdrecht Air Base, set up by Marco Brinkman. “We are moving, but we will stay within the HIVE cluster. Our back door will soon be adjacent to the Defense site,” says Mast. The organizations at Business Park Aviolanda, together with those at the adjacent Woensdrecht Air Base, make up the Hive Aerospace Collective.
